I’ve signed up as a support worker. What do I need to set up my profile?

Your profile on Support Network is your first contact with potential clients. It allows people to learn a bit about you when they are searching for a support worker, or when you apply for a job.

Once you have signed upas an independent support worker on Support Network, you can log in and start creating your profile. You will be guided along the way by prompts, but if you would like to have everything ready beforehand, below is the information and documents you will need:

• Contact details and address
• an emergency contact
• The services you plan to offer (e.g. housework, personal care, community access. Find out what services you can offer with Support Network)
• The services you have experience in
• A National Criminal History Record Check or Police check
• Working With Children check if you plan to work with kids
• Copies of any other qualifications that may be relevant to your job (e.g. an Australian driver’s licence, First Aid certificate, Manual Handling certification, Medication Assistance qualification)
• Your work history(this is optional)
• Details about any degrees, certificates or courses you have completed (this is optional)
• The days you are available
• The rate you intend to charge
• Your cultural/religious background and whether you speak any other languages (this is optional)
• A profile photo of yourself – must be a headshot with no one else in the background
• Your hobbies and interests
• Your bank account details so we can organise payment for you
• Your ABN (Australian Business Number). If you don’t have one, you can easily apply for an ABN free of charge – find out more.

The final step is to have your profile approved by a member of our team. Once you’re approved, your profile will go live and you can start applying for jobs with clients. Good luck!
