Support Network proudly delivers Supported Independent Living (SIL) services right here in the Sunshine Coast, helping individuals find a home where they’re not just safe but seen, heard, and supported. As a trusted NDIS provider with a national footprint, we understand that real care goes beyond ticking boxes. It’s about building spaces that feel right and support that feels personal.
Across Australia, our homes are thoughtfully set up for individuals who need that bit of help with day-to-day living but still want to live life their way. Whether you're looking for shared supported accommodation, a quiet individual setting, or something more flexible we work with you to figure out what feels like home.
What makes us different? It’s how we approach each person. We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all living arrangements. We take time to listen. To understand how you live, what your support needs are, what makes you comfortable, and what you hope to work towards. We use all of that to help build a support plan that works for you, not the other way around.
Our SIL homes in Sunshine Coast offer the full range of Home and Living Support, including shared homes with 24/7 staff, tailored one-on-one care, and short-term options. In each home, we focus on creating connection not just with the team, but with others who live there too. Because emotional wellbeing matters. A lot.
We care about the little things: shared meals, morning routines, community outings, birthday celebrations, weekend trips. Not just care tasks, but creating space for belonging and balance.
We’re here to support your independence but we never forget the power of connection. It’s what turns a house into a home.
The right support doesn’t just make life easier it makes life feel like your own again.
When you move into one of our Supported Independent Living homes in Sunshine Coast, you’ll get more than just a place to stay. You’ll get a support team that listens, shows up, and walks beside you through the everyday. We work with you to build habits that stick, gain confidence in daily tasks, and take steps small or big toward the life you want.
Here’s what’s included in our SIL homes. All services can be tailored to suit your personal needs, routines, and preferences.
Every person we support is different. That’s why our services are not bundled into a set package. You get to choose what fits your life. We sit down with you and shape a tailored care plan that matches your needs, routines, and goals.
You might want daily help, occasional check-ins, or something in between and that’s exactly what we deliver. Our homes in Sunshine Coast are built around you.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is often described as “extra help at home,” yet for many people it becomes the solid ground they stand on. SIL is the bridge between daily challenges such as a functional impairment or a long-term mental health condition and the life someone wants to build.
Picture the ordinary moments of a week: opening the front door with confidence, sharing a cuppa with a neighbour, heading out to a local art group, or turning on the slow cooker because tonight you’re cooking your own dinner. That is SIL in everyday life practical backing blended with emotional encouragement so that routines grow into habits and habits grow into independence.
Because needs differ, SIL can unfold in several settings. Some people thrive in a busy shared home where friendships form quickly; others prefer the steadiness of an apartment living arrangement; a few feel most secure staying in their own house with visiting support workers. Whatever the address, the aim is constant stronger social connections, better self-management of mental health needs, and the freedom to steer your week your way.
We keep our housing opportunities flexible. Below is a closer look at the six SIL living options available through Support Network in the Sunshine Coast region. Each comes with its own flavour of support, yet all are underpinned by the same promise: you choose, we back you up.

When families in the Sunshine Coast begin their search for Supported Independent Living, they aren’t just looking for an available home they’re looking for peace of mind. That’s why so many turn to us. It’s about finding someone who listens. Understands. Stays steady when things get overwhelming. That’s us.
Here’s what makes our team different and why families keep coming back to us:
Applying for SIL through the NDIS doesn’t have to be overwhelming. Still, there are a few key things to understand before starting. We help walk you through this process so you're never left figuring things out on your own.
SIL is usually for people with a functional impairment either physical, cognitive, or psychosocial that makes it hard to live independently without regular support. This might include someone living with an intellectual disability, autism, acquired brain injury, or a mental health condition that affects daily living.
They’ll want to see that SIL is a “reasonable and necessary” support in your situation. That means it must relate directly to your disability and help you pursue your goals, improve functional capacity, or maintain your current living arrangement safely.
To strengthen the case, the NDIS usually asks for reports from an Occupational Therapist or other allied health professionals. These reports outline your daily support needs, explain where you're currently living, and assess your ability to do tasks like meal preparation, personal hygiene, or managing medications on your own.
From checking whether SIL fits your current plan to helping collect the right assessments, our team walks beside you. We also provide draft documents, liaise with your Support Coordinator, and help review residential tenancy agreements when housing comes into the picture. You’re not on your own in this we’re here to take the pressure off.
Finding a home is about where you feel right. Support Network takes that seriously. We don’t place people into homes. We help them discover the ones that fit.
We begin by having a simple, open conversation. What does “a good day” look like for you? Do you like busy homes or quiet ones? Do you need easy access to the beach, medical services, or local shops? Are there cultural, religious, or social preferences that matter to you? We don’t skim past these questions; they shape the search.
We then work through:
Our up-to-date network includes:
We also liaise with property managers to help secure a suitable place, ensuring the residential tenancy agreement lines up with your NDIS plan.
Once we’ve narrowed down a few options, we arrange tours and meet-and-greets (where possible) so you can feel out the place, meet housemates, and ask questions. Nothing is rushed. If a home doesn’t feel quite right we keep looking.
Support in the home doesn’t just mean help with laundry or meals. It’s the comfort of knowing someone has your back if something breaks, if the routine changes, or if the week feels heavy. That’s what we offer at Support Network, a stable home base, with room to grow.
Our supported independent living services are designed to blend daily assistance with a clear path to independence. Unlike standard support services, our focus is on creating a stable, supportive environment where each person’s preferences, goals, and support model are carefully considered.
The National Disability Insurance Agency may fund Supported Independent Living if it’s considered reasonable and necessary for your situation. We assist you in gathering the right reports and evidence to make sure the funding reflects your actual disability support needs.
Yes. Our services are shaped around individual needs—including those with physical disabilities and those accessing mental health services. We adjust the Support Ratio and routines accordingly, offering personalised assistance that feels steady and respectful.
Absolutely. Many of our SIL homes feature accessible bathrooms, open-plan designs, and other features that support safe, independent living. We also work with allied health professionals to customise the space where needed.
While SIL is staffed and structured for ongoing support, Individualised Living Options (ILO) are more flexible and built around how someone wants to live—whether with a host, a housemate, or in their own home. We offer guidance in exploring both options and choosing what fits best.
