Some people need help every day. Some just need someone nearby. Some want to feel like they’ve got their own space. Others feel better in a shared home with support around all the time. That’s where we come in.
We’re a trusted NDIS provider in Wollongong, and we offer Supported Independent Living that actually feels like home. Real support. Real people. No ticking boxes. No doing things just for the sake of it. We work around you. Not the other way around.
We take time to understand what matters to you. What you need help with. What you want to do on your own. We make sure the support we give matches your life. That’s where our support plans come from real conversations, not cookie-cutter templates. Your routine, your goals, your comfort. We shape everything around that.
We offer a few types of living arrangements. Shared homes with 24/7 support if you like being around others and having help always close. Or more private setups, if quiet suits you better. We make sure that whether it’s shared or solo, the place feels calm, safe, and comfortable.
It’s not just the rooms or the walls. What matters more is how you feel in the space. We care about emotional wellbeing. About feeling connected. About feeling like someone’s there who listens. That sense of belonging that’s what we try to build. Through the staff we hire. Through the routines we create. Through how we talk to you and work with you every day.
NDIS funding can get confusing, we'll walk you through it. What’s covered? What you can choose. How to make your plan work for you. You’re not in it alone. We’re here to help, explain, adjust. That’s part of our job.
What we do isn’t just care. It’s care that fits. It’s home and living support that understands people have different needs, different stories, and different ways of being.
Support doesn’t mean taking over. It means stepping in where needed so you can do more, enjoy more, and live the kind of day that feels like yours.
In our SIL homes in Wollongong, every bit of support we offer is there to take the pressure off and give you more control, more comfort, and more peace of mind. It’s not just about making things easier, it's about making things better.
Here’s what we help with, in real simple words:
Getting ready in the morning. Washing up. Dressing. Taking care of hygiene. We help with that. Gently, quietly, and only as much as you want.
We help with cooking, cleaning, dishes, laundry, making the bed, keeping the home neat and how you like it. You can join in or just leave it to us. Your call.
We make sure you take your medicine on time. We help with reminders, sorting, and keeping in touch with doctors if anything changes.
This means helping you feel well overall. Eating right, moving more, resting better. Helping with appointments. Watching out for little changes so things don’t turn into problems.
Need to go somewhere? We help you get there doctor’s visits, group activities, or just a trip to the shop. We plan it with you and make sure it’s safe and easy.
We help with things like paying bills, understanding money, saving up, and budgeting. We sit with you and work it out together.
Getting out and doing stuff matters. Whether it’s joining a group, walking through the market, or just sitting in a park we’ll go with you or support you to go on your own.
Board games. Art. Music. Movie nights. BBQs. You don’t have to join in but you’re always welcome. It’s about giving you options and moments of fun.
If you use tech to talk, or need a little more time to get your words out, we’re patient. We find ways that work for you so you’re always understood.
Want to start work? Keep a job? Go back to school or learn something new? We help you plan it, prepare, and stick with it. It’s about your growth, your pace.
If something goes wrong, we act fast. Health emergencies, emotional upsets, anything that needs quick action we’re trained and ready to keep you safe.
We teach and support you to learn new things. Cooking meals. Catching a bus. Using a phone or computer. Shopping. Even managing stress or planning your week.
You don’t have to know everything on day one. We build things slowly. Helping you do more on your own, with less help as you get better at it.
We stay calm and steady on the tough days. If you have support needs around behaviour, we work with you to understand them and help things feel easier over time.
From voice-activated devices to mobility gear, we help you set it up, use it, and get the most out of it. Tech that makes life smoother.
You might have lots of providers involved. We keep them in sync. No more repeating yourself to five different people. We help manage that mess so you don’t have to.
Sometimes, you or your family need a break. We offer short-term stays with full support, so everyone can take a breather and reset.
Everything above is flexible. You don’t have to use every service. You choose. Maybe you need help with just a few things. Maybe you need most of it. Either way, we shape the support around you. Not what the system says. Not what works for someone else.
You tell us what your day looks like now. Then tell us what you wish it looked like. We’ll help you get closer to that second version.
Because in the end, SIL isn’t about doing things for you. It’s about doing things with you. So you feel safe, capable, and supported every single day.
Supported Independent Living isn’t just helping with daily things. It is not just that. It is a support that fits in your life so that you can continue living on your own terms even when you require frequent assistance. It has nothing to do with losing independence, it has to do with maintaining independence with the right type of support surrounding you.
Some people live with a functional impairment, others with long-term mental health conditions. Some have both. SIL is there to help you get through the day safely and steadily. It may be cooking, dressing or getting reminders about your medicine or someone to call in case you feel something is not okay. That is only the tip of the iceberg.
What really makes SIL important is that it creates space. Space for connection, for growth, for stability. It’s a quiet kind of foundation that gives you time and energy to do more than just get by. When the pressure of keeping things running is shared, you’ve got more room to think, to rest, to feel okay.
And it doesn’t all look the same. It depends on your situation. You could be in a shared home with a few others and staff who are there all the time. You could be in a private rental with just a bit of help each day. You could be in your own family home but want someone coming in regularly so you don’t fall behind on things. It’s still SIL. It still counts. The important thing is that such support should be consistent, respectful and centered on your needs, rather than what is convenient to another person.
You don’t have to be social every day. But when you want to connect, SIL makes that easier. You’ve got access to people, outings, small routines that build up over time. That’s part of being human. That’s what supported housing should allow for. Be it an apartment life, community housing or a more individual and peaceful setting, it is about getting you to remain where you are with the kind of care that is unobtrusive and yet fills in the cracks.
That’s what SIL really means. Not just support. A base you can build on.
SIL isn’t just one thing. We’ve got different setups across Wollongong because people need different things, some for a short time, some for the long haul. We talk with you. We look at what’s going on. Then we help you choose something that fits. Not what sounds good on paper but what feels right in your life.
This one’s good when you need somewhere to stay for just a little while. Could be a break. Could be while you wait for something more permanent. Could be your usual carer’s taking time off.
This setup gives you a proper place to stay, with support workers around and everything taken care of meals, meds, routines. It’s calm, it’s safe, and it gives you breathing room. Some people use it once a year. Some use it every few months. It’s flexible.
We help you settle in. We listen. No pushing, no pressure. Just a place to stay and be looked after.
Similar to Short Term Accommodation, but this one’s more about rest. For you. Or for your family. It’s there so you can take a break from the usual routine.
The house is already set up. Staff are ready. All goes well. You do not need to justify yourself all the time. We only come in and leave you room to breathe, and just hold the fort awhile. It can be helpful even though it is a few nights.
We get you comfortable quickly. Nothing over the top. Just steady, honest support.
You live in your own space, but with help nearby when you need it. You’ve got your own routine. You just want someone checking in, lending a hand where it counts.
It’s not full-time care. It’s flexible. Help with shopping, tidying, daily reminders. It’s your life, just made smoother. It suits people who don’t need 24/7 support but still like knowing someone’s around.
We ease into your routine, not the other way around. That’s what makes it work.
This is for when you’re ready to live on your own or with a housemate. You want your own home, your own space. But you also know there are a few things you’ll need help with day to day.
Could be getting meals sorted. Could be personal care. Could be checking your calendar. We’re there for all of it. The setup is still yours. We’re just part of the background.
We help you settle by building trust first. You show us how your days run. We step in gently.
Here, you live with a few others. You each have your own room. You share common spaces. Support workers are always around, morning to night.
This setup works well if you like some social time but still need strong support. There’s routine, meals together, time to relax, and people to chat with if you want. You’re not alone, but you’re not crowded either.
We match housemates carefully. It’s not just about filling beds, it’s about making sure the home feels like a home.
This is for people with high support needs. These homes are built differently, wider doors, extra safety features, better access, special layouts.
This one’s for people who qualify for Specialist Disability Accommodation funding. It suits people who need more than regular help, who need homes built with their mobility and support in mind.
We help with everything, from finding the right place, working through the funding, to setting up your routine once you’re in.
Every SIL setup is a bit different. That’s the point. What works for someone else might not work for you. We don’t make you fit the service, we make the service fit you.
You don’t have to figure it all out today. You just need to start with a conversation. And we’ll walk the rest with you.
We don’t just support people, we walk with them. And we stay. That’s why so many families in Wollongong trust us with their loved one’s care.
It’s not about showing up and doing a shift. It’s about showing up and knowing the person. What kind of day they’re having. What kind of help do they need today, not last week? That’s where the trust comes from. We take time to understand each person and keep their routine steady.
Getting SIL through the NDIS can feel like a lot but we’ll help you break it down. It starts with knowing what NDIS looks for and what you need to have ready.
Who usually qualifies for SIL?
SIL is for people with higher support needs, people who need help at home every day. It could be help with personal care, managing medicine, preparing meals, or staying safe overnight.
People with physical disabilities. People with cognitive impairments. People with psychosocial or mental health needs. All of that can be included if the support is considered reasonable and necessary.
What does “reasonable and necessary” mean?
It means the support makes sense for your condition and helps you live safely and independently. It needs to be something you really need, not something that’s just nice to have.
What kind of evidence does NDIS want?
You’ll need reports. Usually from an Occupational Therapist. Sometimes others too like psychologists, speech therapists, or behavioural specialists. These reports need to explain what kind of support you need, why you need it, and how often.
They’ll also want to see how your functional impairment affects your daily life. What tasks are hard? Where do things fall apart without help?
What else do they check?
They’ll look at whether you’re ready to live away from family or your current setting. If you’ll need a residential tenancy agreement, how much support you'll need in your new home, and how your goals match your request.
How do we help?
We don’t leave you to chase papers and wait on hold. We talk with your therapists, help you gather documents, explain the process in plain words, and walk you through the forms. We don’t just show up when the house is ready, we help you apply, prepare, and understand what’s ahead.
Finding a place to live isn’t just about filling a room. It’s about fitting in. Feeling like you belong. And that takes time, care, and real attention.
We don’t just check off a list. We ask questions. We get to know what matters to you. Do you like quiet spaces? Do you want to live near shops? Do you enjoy being around others, or would you rather have more time alone? What kind of support feels right?
We use that to help find a good match.
We’ve got a strong network of SIL homes across Wollongong. Houses with outdoor spaces, safe rooms, shared living spaces, private setups, and different levels of care. Some are better for people with complex physical needs. Some are more suited for people who want independence with a bit of help.
We work with property managers to make sure everything is safe and ready. That includes the residential tenancy agreement, rent contributions, and making sure the home fits the level of care you need.
Once we help you find a place, we don’t stop there. We help with:
Whether it’s shared or private, long-term or short-term, we make sure it’s more than a house, it's a home that fits you.
Yes. If someone has High Physical Support needs, we’ve got setups for that—hoists, wide spaces, wheelchair accessible rooms, staff trained for this kind of care. We know how to handle it without making it feel clinical.
Most are Fully Accessible. Open layouts. Good natural light. Easy to move around. Bathrooms set up for safety. Air conditioning that actually works. We check all that before we offer the home to anyone.
Yes, of course. Things like laundry, meals, tidying—these household chores can pile up. We help you manage them. Some days you do more, some days less. We adjust.
That’s the whole point. If you want to keep doing community activities, we work that into your support. It’s not just about surviving. It’s about doing stuff that keeps you connected.
Your NDIS plan isn’t stuck. If your needs shift, we help you update it. We talk with the right people, get the right info, and make sure your support services still match what your day actually looks like.
