Yes, and that’s where a coordinator really makes a difference. In growth areas like Werribee, Craigieburn and Pakenham where providers are short, knowing who is genuinely able, and willing, to deliver is a huge asset, and that’s a big part of what we do.

Can a Melbourne support coordinator help with a complex mental health situation?

Yes. Where things are more complex or challenging, we can help through Specialist Support Coordination (Level 3), delivered by a more qualified practitioner, and we know the Melbourne psychosocial and clinical provider networks.

Am I charged anything for support coordination?

No. If support coordination is included in your plan as part of Capacity Building, it’s claimed from your allocated plan funding. You won’t pay out of pocket, and you won’t receive an invoice unless you’re self-managed. It doesn’t come from your core supports.

How many levels of support coordination are there?

Level 1 is Support Connection ($80.06/hr in 2025-26), a lighter touch for connecting with services. The most common level is Level 2, Coordination of Supports ($100.14/hr). Level 3, Specialist Support Coordination ($190.54/hr), is for more complex needs or significant risk, delivered by more qualified practitioners.

Can I choose my own support coordinator?

Yes. If support coordination is included in your plan, you choose your provider, there’s no obligation to use anyone in particular, and you can switch coordinators if it’s not working for you.
